2008-11-09 [Jitter]: Will this need a badge?
2008-11-09 [Hedda]: An magnifying glass badge for the helpers? Or something like that... Yes, it would be nice, wouldn't it?
2008-11-09 [NOOOPE]: Weee! We needa pick an awesome animal...
2008-11-09 [Hedda]: A dog who is pointing (not painting) maybe?
Like this:
2008-11-09 [NOOOPE]: That'd be sweet, and considering that I can't think of anything better, I'm all for that idea.
2008-11-09 [Hedda]: Maybe an elephant grabbing a painter's hand?
Or a blind-helper dog leading a blind artist to the painting...
Very hard to fit into a badge, I think.
2008-11-09 [NOOOPE]: Yeah, I think a pointer is pretty straight forward
2008-11-09 [Jitter]: or a tweezer picking up teeny tiny spots. Nitpick :D
There already is a dog badge afaik, the Guides one.
There also is the unused lionfish badge. Seeing that it doesn't have to be all relevant all the time :P
2008-11-09 [NOOOPE]: What about a heron or the like? What with their looking around carefully and snapping up little fishes.
Or like... a pelican
2008-11-09 [Jitter]: Bwahaha I can so picture that!
2008-11-09 [NOOOPE]: Shweeeeet
2008-11-09 [Hedda]: The guide badge is a different dog though, and isn't it fitting to also have a dog for this as this is another kind of guide?
2008-11-09 [Hedda]: (The main reason for this reasoning is of course that I want an excuse to get more kinds of beaver-badges.
2008-11-10 [Jitter]: bwehehehhe
2008-11-24 [NOOOPE]: <- possibility?
2008-11-25 [Hedda]: Whee! That's great!
Then I don't know about the text. Art Helper in Spanish? Or Artistic Helper? Or Art Teacher? Or Art Guide? Artist Trainer?
What sounds good in Spanish?
2008-11-25 [NOOOPE]: I only know french.
2008-11-26 [NOOOPE]: shweet
2008-11-26 [Hedda]: I guess you can't fit "Ayudante de Arte" there?
"Artsistente" is pseudo-Spanish that is mixing "art" and "asistente".
"Guia de Arte" is perfect I think.
"AyudArte": it mixes ayuda= help, arte=art, and "ayudarte = helping you" (equals "ayudar a tí" ("to help you"))
I vote for "AyudArte".
2008-11-26 [Jitter]: Artsistente is clever too but AyudArte is more to the point :)
2008-11-26 [NOOOPE]: I shall slap it on later tonight! Is there a name for the badge font or should I just go for the closest I've got?
2008-11-27 [Jitter]: You can download it here: how to make a standard badge
There should also be a veteran version iirc. Not yet needed but you know, just in case.
2008-11-28 [NOOOPE]: UGH! I wish I had seen this before! GOD!
2008-11-30 [All_Most PUNK]: Ayudante means "helper", also.
But what kind of help will they give?
2008-12-01 [All_Most PUNK]: I know. But ayudante (which is closer than ayuda to "ayudarte") means helper, so it adds to the meaning.
Now, I was thinking about "Mecenas" (translated by the online shittranslator as "Patron", which I think works). That doesn't work right with this kind of help, does it? I mean, it's a lot more art specific than ayudarte, but the help they give is mostly material and of contacts, not so much about the art itself.
2008-12-16 [Jitter]: Can't find time for this as well at the moment so I took my name down from the art helper mods, sorry :s
2010-10-23 [Sunrose]: Cool badge ^^
